Ramone Crowe Jr.

Ramone Crowe, Jr. serves National Program Manager for the Technical Operation Services (TechOps), National Airspace Services (NAS) Integration and Support Group, NAS Policy and Services Planning Team at Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Headquarters. He develops and provides national policy and procedures guidance for the operations and maintenance of systems operating in the NAS. Provides national leadership in the Non-Federal Navigational Aids Program and Runway Safety Area (RSA) for TechOps. Provides guidance for the implementation, development, utilization, policy and training effort of the Non-Federal web based application. Develops and implements national programs, training, policies and procedures for the RSA with TechOps and acts as the liaison with other FAA organizations.

Ramone served as the Ypsilanti System Support Center (SSC) Manager for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) located in Belleville, MI. He was responsible for management of all the FAA’s technical operations for Willow Run, Detroit City, Jackson and Ann Arbor Airports. Had full responsibility for overall administrative and technical direction of the assigned workforce consisting of Airway Transportation System Specialists (ATSS) and support staff involved in providing National Airspace (NAS) services to enroute/terminal air traffic control to commercial airlines, and general aviation aircraft for a defined area. In this role he was awarded Diversity Manager of the Year by the Federal Executive Board (https://www.feb.gov/locations/detroit/) of Southeastern Michigan, becoming the first FAA management official nationally to receive this award.

Prior to serving as National Program Manager, and throughout his career, Ramone has over 20 years of experience serving as an advocate for Civil Rights, and Diversity and Inclusion. He has 360 degrees of experience in this area by successfully: filing EEO complaints; representing complainants in mediation; representing the agency as the management official during the EEO process; developing and executing Diversity and Inclusions initiatives.

Ramone holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management; Certificate as a trained EEO counselor by the FAA; Certified Mediator from Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service; Trained as a Special Emphasis Program Manager; Trained in Crucial Accountability, Managerial Coaching and Mentoring, Labor Management Relations; Essential Communication for Effective Leaders, Conflict Resolution training from the FAA Leadership and Learning Institute.

Ramone is a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Persian Gulf War as an electronics technician.

Crowe is the recipient of several awards including: “Spirit of Detroit” Award from the Detroit City Council in recognition of exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership, and dedication to improving the quality of life with the community; “Men of Excellence” for his professionalism and community outreach activities; Mentoring Certificate of Appreciation and Secretary’s Gold Medal Certificates from Secretary of Transportation; Best Small Business Award;

He is a member of several professional organizations including: Michigan Virtual Charter Academy – Board Member ; Black United Fund of Michigan – Board Member; 100 Black Men; National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Administration (NBCFAE); Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) and Tuskegee Airmen National Museum

Ramone is married with two children, a son and a daughter. He loves to golf and ski, enjoys traveling, public speaking and networking.
