Charles Motley is a business operations leader focused on data analytics to manage costs, elevate operational support, and improve customer service. He is a US Navy veteran who has managed small and mid-sized entrepreneurial businesses as well as worked in large multi-state health systems. His strengths include strategic partnering, relationship building, problem solving through functional integration, process improvement, operational transformation, and leader mentoring.

Charles founded Catena Supply Chain Solutions, a supply chain consulting committed to developing partnerships within organizations to improve operations and achieve goals. As independent consulting, Charles focuses on transforming departments into centers of excellence.

Early in his career, as a Naval Supply Officer on active duty and in the reserves, Charles gained broad experience managing food service, logistics and distribution, purchasing, sourcing and contract administration operations. He was the General Manager of two small businesses, Total Pack Management, a $3 million medical sterile kitting company and Integrated Supply Chain Solutions, a $12 million provider of supply chain management services. Charles held positions of increasing responsibility in purchasing, supply chain operations, corporate sourcing and contract management at Boston Children’s Hospital, the Boston Medical Center, Henry Ford Health System and Mercy Health.

Charles’ community involvement includes being a Big Brother, a mentor in the Boys To Men program at Davis High School, Detroit Public Schools, and participation in inclusion programs at the Plymouth Canton Public Schools.

Charles holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a M. B. A. from Bentley University. He is designated as a Certified Resource and Materials Professional.

He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Healthcare Resource Materials Management, and the Institute for Supply Management.

Charles is married with two children, a son and a daughter. He is a passionate golfer and enjoys reading and cooking.
